Michelin star rated breakfast(in my opinion).
Take every dollar I have, Cracked & Battered! I will definitely be back in San Francisco just to have breakfast again here.
Down side to having such a perfect spot for breakfast? Long lines. Make sure you keep an eye on the waitlist, it can go from no wait to an hour wait easillllyyy.
I ordered the waffle platter? Came with fried chicken, waffles with eggs. De-li-cious. Everything was cooked to perfection and came out fairly quick!
My friend ordered the fried chicken eggs Benedict and that was also 5/5. I'm salivating just thinking about it.

I was really looking forward to getting my Saturday brunch on and decided to give this place a try after reading so many positive reviews. However, the food here is actually really mediocre and the service is even worse.
----
First, the food. We ordered the 5 pc buffalo wings, spicy chicken sandwich, nasi goreng (indonesian fried rice w/ fried chicken), and pamplemousse kombucha.
Buffalo wings = terrible
The wings are not the typical buffalo wings where they come coated with the sauce. Instead, the buffalo sauce is placed on the side for dipping. This would have been forgivable if the chicken wings weren't fried to hell. They were super dry and probably 10 seconds away from becoming fried coal.
Nasi Goreng = so so
As big fried rice lovers, we were excited to try this dish. Unfortunately, it's pretty underwhelming. While the texture of the rice is on point, it lacks any sort of flavor. While you can see lovely aromatics in the rice, they taste like nothing. Also, the limpness of the thinly coated piece of fried chicken on the side leaves you feeling a little sad.
Spicy chicken sandwich = good
The sandwich itself is pretty tasty. The spicy chicken piece was fried well, not overly spicy, and juicy inside. The bread is also soft which nicely contrasts the fried chicken. A little heavy on the sauce, but the sauce's flavor makes up for the mediocre slaw and pickles. The fries looked underdone and were a pale yellow. However, they were still crispy. While the sandwich is probably the best thing we ordered here, it's not the best I've had in SF.
Kombucha = skip
It's pretty pricey for a small glass and the flavor is watered down.

The service is really bad.
The waiting staff here is inattentive, borderline neglectful. Several times we tried to make eye contact with the staff to get them to come over for ordering food or something else. Our eyes would connect and then...they would look away, ignore us, and go back to standing around. Then, 10-15 minutes later, like a delayed butterfly effect, someone else would finally show up. At one point, I accidentally knocked over my glass of kombucha. It made a pretty loud sound and people definitely heard it. In most restaurants the wait staff would come and help you (even if it's not their fault). However, no one came to help us and we were left to our own devices looking for napkins we could use to wipe everything up. Finally, after we cleaned up the counter and chairs, someone came to help mop the floor. -

Food: terrible. Ordered the buffalo wings and they were fried to a crisp. Kombucha is diluted. Fried chicken on the side means a piece of breaded chicken you'd only expect to be in a sandwich. Nasi Goreng lacks flavour and colour.
Service: terrible. Spilled my coffee all over my seat and table, got many looks from multiple wait staff and no one came over to help. We walked over to their kitchen area to get napkins ourselves. Tried to flag down multiple wait staff for my check, all of them made contact with me but never came over. Food was all swapped for the wrong person.
Inside: dirty bathroom with used, to be disposed kitchen oil in a container in the bathroom. Dirty countertops. Hot as a pizza oven. -

Been here a few times already and really hits the spot when you want chicken and waffles! The wait gets kind of crazy during weekend brunch times so be sure to come here early! They also use the yelp waitlist feature so you can check the wait times on the app!
For the lactose intolerant friends: make sure you bring lactaid. They use a special buttermilk recipe! It's definitely worth it!
What I love about the place is the people. They are all super sweet and attentive. They are also really efficient. They also have a bunch of middle Eastern food too! I love the Shashouka dishes and even the tea drinks. A really unique place to be!
Fun fact: find the random giant half burger sculpture! -

The chicken and waffles here - so good! Really loved all of the menu items and thought that the ambiance of the restaurant was great. The savory and juicy chicken was balanced by the sweet Belgian waffle. I got the plate that also came with potatoes and eggs.
What I don't love here is the SUPER long wait to get a table for weekend brunch. You'll definitely want to plan ahead and either arrive early or strategically put yourself on the Yelp waitlist for when you want your table to be ready. For a sense of timing, for a Sunday brunch for 3 people, we put our names on the waitlist around 11:15am, were told to arrive by 12:30pm, and were seated around 12:50pm.
Paying for the bill is really convenient, especially if you're in a group, because you go up to the counter and tell them your order when you're finished. Overall, I would recommend this place for brunch in SF!
